Kerbi Urbanowski is a multidisciplinary object maker grounded heavily in the concept of functional art. Her style uniquely transfers between fiber, glass and paint, always unapologetically saturated in color. In her most recent textile side project UnderToe she utilizes traditional rug making techniques to create extremely durable works of art. Contrary to UnderToe, Kerbi’s stained glass series ColorGlow is a quest to capture the three dimensionality of light. These lead-light paintings are made to transform space, creating warmth and body in their environment. Kerbi received her BFA in Painting from The San Francisco Art Institute and is currently pursuing a degree in Interior Design.
